BRDGS Album Release Listening Party
Presenting Music for Elephants for the first time at The University Club of Toronto, BRDGS invites you to join us as he shares his new music with friends, collaborators, music industry professionals, and music lovers alike.
Having spent over a decade in the music industry involved in many different projects in varying capacities, as a songwriter, producer, performer, and more, BRDGS is now poised to release his most ambitious project to date, Music for Elephants. A 13-song album, recorded entirely via live stream, this collection of songs has been written over the past 3 years with the aim of connecting directly to the audience’s emotional layer. Taking inspiration from NYT best-selling author Jonathan Haidt (The Righteous Mind, The Coddling of the American Mind), BRDGS engages with Haidt’s analogy of ‘the elephant and the rider’ to describe an individual’s conscious and subconscious motivation centres.
About BRDGS
BRDGS is award-winning singer/songwriter/producer Jon Pike. Based out of Toronto,
BRDGS (pronounced “Bridges”) fuses modern pop production with classic vulnerable
songwriting sensibilities.
Catapulting onto the Canadian music scene with single “In the Wild” in 2017 (#28 on
Canadian CHR hit radio), BRDGS has steadily grown into a mainstay of Canadian pop.
Having since released 1 EP, 2 albums, and over 20 singles, BRDGS songs have been
streamed over 55 million times, all the while remaining completely independent, self
managed and almost entirely self-produced. BRDGS’ single ‘All My Friends’ (March
2018) reached #42 on Canadian CHR radio with over a million streams, and their 2020
single ‘dancing without music’ from their 2020 has been streamed over 27 million times
across platforms. BRDGS’ two albums ‘ie+’ (2020) and ‘Falling Apart’ (20201), both
entirely produced by Pike and largely solo written, have a combined 35 million streams
across platforms. Between the releases of their solo recordings, BRDGS has also found
great success in collaborations with artists such as FWLR, Kin Crew, and Germany’s
Stupid Goldfish with songs that have themselves been streamed over 1.5 million times,
with ‘Suspicious’ winning the 2021 East Coast music award for ‘Dance Recording of the
Year’.
As a performer, BRDGS has developed a nation-wide reputation as one of the most
entertaining acts to see live. With a performance centred around huge sonic and visual
energy, juxtaposed with Pike’s dry humour and vulnerable honesty, BRDGS has opened
for acts such as Nelly, Ria Mae, and Shawn Desman. Pike found his musical roots in his
smalltown home in Steady Brook, Newfoundland, and has since travelled across North
America writing, recording, and performing. In his time with pop duo Everglow, Pike
collected a 2016 East Coast Music Award for “Fan’s Choice Music Video of the Year” as
well as 2016 MusicNL Award for “Entertainer of the Year”.
As a songwriter and producer, Pike has worked on songs for the new Mattel TV show
“Barney’s World”, had songs featured on Love Island UK, and in Netflix movies
(“Snowbound for Christmas”). Pike has had the opportunity to collaborate with several
significant artists from across Canada (Victoria Duffield, Shawn Desman) as well as
working with writers and producers (JoLi, KUYA) on songs for BRDGS. Pike’s
cumulative work as a songwriter and producer has been streamed over 70 million times,
and reached #18 on Canadian hit radio with Basha’s 2022 single ‘Balance’.
In 2025 BRDGS will release his highly anticipated ‘Music for Elephants’ album, a full-length
recorded entirely on livestream, as part of an exciting new initiative in engaging
fans in the artistic process. This new album reinvents BRDGS’ sound in a more organic,
folk-pop world while maintaining his signature songwriting sensibilities. BRDGS
continues to establish himself as a force in the alt-pop music landscape.
